Abstract
Breast cancer is a highly neoplasm, their treatments resulting in incident sequels known as physical dysfunctions, they can remain functional for years after treatment and impair daily life activities. This study was aimed at assessing the impact of functional physical dysfunctions in the quality of life of postoperative women for breast cancer. Search 82 women participated, with average age of 60.09 (+ 10.91) years and time of 5.78 surgery (+ 4.60) years. They answered the questionnaires for assessing quality of life, FACT-B then the instrument that indicates the presence of functional physical dysfunctions of upper limb, the QuickDash. As a result, were assessed by an evaluation sheet containing specific calibration of amplitudes spine School of shoulder movement (flexion, abduction and external rotation) through direction finding antenna, the volume of the arm by perimetria, and information consistent with the type of surgery, surgery time, current treatments and personal data. As a result the range of motion of shoulder surgery ipsilateral appeared limited in shoulder flexion movement obtained average 155.44 (+ 28.31), in the abduction was average 149.05 (29.51+) and for the external rotation of the average was 58.44 (+ 29.17). Such movements impacted negatively the functional capacity and general quality of life. The Lymphoedema was present in 28.04% of women evaluated, and not adversely affected the quality of life, and not the functional capacity. It was concluded that the physical dysfunctions are present in the late postoperative functional breast cancer and that limiting the range of motion of shoulder influenced negatively the quality of life and functional capacity of women. The presence of the Lymphoedema was not detrimental to the functional capacity and quality of life of postoperative women for breast cancer.
